Capture Hydrogen-Alpha Wavelengths
At the heart of the OM-3 ASTRO is a specialized IR-cut filter positioned in front of the sensor, allowing 100% transmission of Hα (hydrogen-alpha) wavelengths. Combined with the TruePic X image processor, this adjustment ensures accurate color, detail, and shape reproduction of diffuse nebulae and other deep-sky objects.
Advanced Image Stacking and High-Resolution Mode
The High Res Shot Mode uses computational stacking to combine multiple sequential frames into a single ultra-detailed image. The Handheld High Res Shot Mode—recommended even when using a tripod or equatorial mount—composites 12 frames into a 50MP photo, minimizing noise and blur while maximizing fine detail.
This mode also compensates for diurnal star movement, misalignment, or minor tracking errors when shooting from a tripod or equatorial mount.
Astro-Tuned Custom Modes and Color Profiles
Predefined COLOR1 and COLOR2 settings simplify astrophotography setup:
