The Tiffen 58mm Red 23A Filter enhances contrast in black-and-white photography by deepening cool and blue tones, allowing shadows and clouds to appear more defined and dramatic. Compared to standard yellow or orange filters, this light-red 23A filter delivers stronger tonal separation, making it ideal for striking outdoor and landscape images. It has an approximate 4x filter factor, meaning exposure should be increased by about two stops.

Constructed with Tiffen’s ColorCore technology, the filter material is laminated between two pieces of precision-ground optical glass—accurate to within 1/10,000th of an inch—and housed in a lightweight, durable aluminum ring.
