It features a full-color OLED touchscreen, Bowens S-type mount, and bi-color LED modeling light, with upgrades inspired by user feedback, such as group indicator lighting and the shared AC/DC battery system found in the FJ400 II and FJ800. Fully compatible with the FJ wireless ecosystem, the FJ250 offers seamless studio and on-location performance.

The modern OLED touchscreen interface and built-in help guide make operation effortless for photographers of all levels. The included Octa-S softbox attaches quickly via the Rapid Box Switch insert, producing soft, flattering light for portraits and product photography. Compact and lightweight, the FJ250 is Westcott’s most portable off-camera flash to date.

With a 9-stop power range (0.98–250Ws) adjustable in fine increments, the FJ250 adapts easily to any shooting condition. It features a 1/29,600s flash duration, supports HSS up to 1/8000s, and offers ±3 FEC for precise exposure control. The Creative Mask Mode enables up to six programmable light combinations for dynamic multi-look captures—all controllable via the touchscreen.
Wireless Integration
As part of Westcott’s 2.4 GHz FJ wireless system, the FJ250 connects seamlessly with the included FJ-X3 S trigger (Sony compatible), other FJ triggers, and the FJ80 speedlight. Wireless operation is reliable up to 328 feet, with 31 channels and 16 groups to avoid interference. The Westcott StudioLink app allows advanced remote control directly from your smartphone.
Long-Lasting Power
Powered by a 29.6V, 74Wh AC/DC lithium-ion battery, the FJ250 delivers 850 full-power flashes or thousands at lower settings on a 1.5-hour charge. The FJ Pro battery includes LED indicators, and the optional FJ ProMax battery boosts capacity to 1,400 flashes. Shared battery compatibility with the FJ400 II and FJ800 models eliminates the need for multiple power systems, while AC trickle charging supports uninterrupted sessions.
12W Bi-Color LED Modeling Light
The adjustable 12W LED modeling light (2700–6500K) makes composition and light balancing simple, adding flexibility for hybrid photo and video workflows.
Build, Mounting & Accessories
The FJ250 includes a Bowens S mount, 5/8" tilting bracket, and 9mm umbrella receptacle for flexible setup options. Firmware updates are supported via the USB-C port. Included accessories feature a magnetic 5.5" reflector, gel set (CTO, ½ CTO, window green, and diffusion), and the Rapid Box Switch insert for the included softbox. The backpack offers padded dividers, organized compartments, and comfortable straps for transport.
